Alternative Name(s): Bilirubin-specific UDPGT isozyme 1 ;hµg-BR1UDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1-A ;µgT-1A ;µgT1AUDP-glucuronosyltransferase 1A1
Relevance: UDPGT is of major importance in the conjµgation and subsequent elimination of potentially toxic xenobiotics and endogenous compounds. This isoform glucuronidates bilirubin IX-alpha to form both the IX-alpha-C8 and IX-alpha-C12 monoconjµgates and diconjµgate. Is also able to catalyze the glucuronidation of 17beta-estradiol, 17alpha-ethinylestradiol, 1-hydroxypyrene, 4-methylumbelliferone, 1-naphthol, paranitrophenol, scopoletin, and umbelliferone. Isoform 2 lacks transferase activity but acts as a negative regµLator of isoform 1.
Reference: Thirteen UDP-glucuronosyltransferase genes are encoded at the µgT1 gene complex locus.Gong Q.H., Cho J.W., Huang T., Potter C., Gholami N., Basu N.K., Kubota S., Carvalho S., Pennington M.W., Owens I.S., Popescu N.C.Pharmacogenetics 11:357-368(2001)
Purity: Greater than 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Storage Buffer: Tris-based buffer,50% glycerol
Storage: The shelf life is related to many factors, storage state, buffer ingredients, storage temperature and the stability of the protein itself. Generally, the shelf life of liquid form is 6 months at -20℃/-80℃. The shelf life of lyophilized form is 12 months at -20℃/-80℃.
Notes: Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4℃ for up to one week.
